POCSO COURT IN MUMBAI SENTENCED 3 YEARS JAIL TO A MUMBAI TEACHER FOR MOLESTING STUDENTS

A special Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act court in Mumbai convicted and sentenced a 40-year-old algebra teacher from a suburban school in Mumbai to three years jail for sexually harassing minor students in 2013. While the school principal said 39 students had given written complaints to her, three of them deposed before the trial court. The court allowed the plea of the accused to be released on bail to file an appeal and told him to pay a fine of Rs 25,000 to the three survivors who deposed.
