DETENTION ORDER AGAINST THOSE IN CUSTODY IS INVALID IF COPS DON’T GIVE REASONABLE POSSIBILITY OF RELEASE : HYDERABAD HIGH COURT

Hyderabad High Court said that if a detention order is issued by the police authority concerned will not sustain in the court of law if there is no mention in such order whether the detenu has applied for bail and that there is reasonable possibility of release of such person on bail in the near future, and set aside the impugned detention order issued against a detenu who was in judicial custody in connection with seven criminal cases.

HYDERABAD POLICE LINKING AADHAAR NUMBER WITH GUN LICENCES

Hyderabad police have embarked on a drive to link Aadhaar numbers with licences of firearms. The development came to light when arms licence holders, who did not wish to be identified, constables informed them for the linkage of the unique identification number and arms licence.

POLICE LINKING AADHAAR NUMBER OF CRIMINAL ACCUSED TO HIS RECORDS

Hyderabad police has started linking Aadhaar number of a person, who involved in any criminal cases to his records saying that it will reveal criminal record of accused and prevent him from taking different names each time they are arrested in different jurisdictions, and also said that they take the Aadhaar number of only arrested accused and not those named in FIRs.

Kannada actress Sangeetha Bhat has approached the Bangalore Cyber Crime police and lodged a complaint against a person called Preeti D’Souza. Sangeetha received a message from Preeti facebook account asking her to share nude pictures of her. The police are investigating about facebook account that is real or fake.
