THREE PERSONS ARRESTED FOR POSING AS ACB OFFICIALS AND FOR EXTORTING MONEY

Three persons were arrested for allegedly posing as Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials and extorting Rs 1 lakh from a government official. ACB Hyderabad district superintendent of police Mr Ashok Kumar who trapped the trio said that the three incurred losses in their business and in order to make quick money, posed as ACB sleuths and blackmailed three government officials.

SOON APEX CYBERCRIME COORDINATION CENTRE TO DEAL WITH CYBERCRIME CASES: UNION HOME MINISTRY

The Union Home Ministry is planning to set up an Apex coordination centre which deals with cybercrimes such as financial frauds, circulation of communal and pornographic contents. The Ministry also asked the States to establish a similar mechanism in every district, and released ₹83 crore for setting up of a cyber-forensic training laboratory-cum-training centre for police officials in each State. The funds were given under the Cyber Crime Prevention against Women and Children Scheme.

TELANGANA STATE GOVERNMENT DECLARED IPC SECTIONS 506 AND 507 AS COGNIZABLE OFFENCE

The Telangana State government declared that crimes under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 506 and 507 as cognizable offences. This means that police can now interrogate offenders booked under these Sections without the permission of Court. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao signed on this file on Thursday.

LALU PRASAD AND ANOTHER FORMER BIHAR CHIEF MINISTER GOT 5 YEAR JAIL IN 3RD CASE OF FODDER SCAM

RJD chief Lalu Prasad and another former Bihar chief minister Jagannath Mishra were sentenced to five years rigorous imprisonment by a special CBI court in Ranchi in the case related to fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 37.62 crore from Chaibasa treasury in the early 1990s.

CHILD MARRIAGE AVERTED IN WEST GODAVARI DISTRICT OF ANDHRA PRADESH

 A child marriage was averted in West Godavari district, based on credible information provided by city-based child rights NGO, Balala Hakkula Sangham (BHS). According Acyutha Rao, from the NGO, the 16-year-old girl from Kukatpally was being forced to marry a 32-year-old man.

TELANGANA: WOMEN LURED WITH JOB OFFERS, TRAPPED

An international human trafficking racket involving Gulf migrants turned agents, luring innocent women with promises of well paid jobs, has been exposed by the Special Operations Team of the police. A detailed inquiry was initiated and the racket was unearthed. Police arrested five members of the gang; another 10 agents in the Gulf and parts of AP are absconding.

20-YEAR-OLD WOMAN GANGRAPED IN HARYANA

 A 20-year old woman was gang-raped by two youths of her village at Bhuthan village of Fatehabad while she was alone in her house. It is learnt that the woman was home alone when the two accused barged in and gang-raped her. Meanwhile, a special team has been formed to nab the accused.

CAB DRIVER ARRESTED FOR MOLESTING A WOMAN, HE ALSO ADMITTED THAT HE HAD ASSAULTED NINE OTHERS, INCLUDING A 10-YEAR-OLD GIRL

The Ola cab driver, Kandukuri Naga Madhu Kiran, was arrested by Kushaiguda police on Sunday for molesting a woman passenger a week ago. After being taken into custody, police say that Kiran confessed to another crime - raping a 10-year-old girl in October 2017 and admitted that he often attempted to force himself on women.

MAN FROM BENGAL ARRESTED FOR STALKING SACHIN TENDULKAR'S DAUGHTER

A 32-year-old man from Mahishadal in East Midnapore district in West Bengal has been arrested for stalking and harassing cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar's daughter Sara. The accused had reportedly made 20 calls to Tendulkar's residence and passed lewd comments about Sara and even threatened to kidnap her.

LALU PRASAD YADAV GETS 3.5-YEAR JAIL IN FODDER SCAM CASE

RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, a convict in the fodder scam had sentenced to three-and-a-half years in jail and slapped a fine of Rs 10 lakh by a Ranchi special CBI court. The fodder scam case relates to fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 89.27 lakh from the Deoghar treasury 21 years ago.

SUPREME COURT CONSTITUTION BENCH TO DECIDE PLEA ON ADULTERY LAW CHANGE

A Constitution bench of the Supreme Court will answer whether the exemption granted to women from being punished for adultery needs to be changed. A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra on Friday referred a PIL challenging Section 497 of IPC, which says that in an offence of adultery only the man can be punished and the woman cannot be punished even as abettor.

‘GHAZAL' SRINIVAS ARRESTED ON CHARGES OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT

The Punjagutta police arrested noted ghazal singer Kesiraju Srinivas following a complaint of sexual harassment by a 29-year-old woman colleague. The victim works at web radio channel 'Aalayavani', which is run by Save Temples Organisation from their office located on the first floor of Saptagiri Towers near Care Hospital in Banjara Hills.

MANAGING DIRECTOR AND DIRECTORS OF CELKON IMPEX PVT LTD BOOKED FOR CHEATING ONE OF THE BOARD DIRECTORS

Based on the complaint lodged by one of the directors of Celkon Impex Private limited, a cheating case was registered against four other board directors. Madhapur police said that the case was registered against board directors, managing director of Celkon Impex Pvt Ltd Y Guruswamy Naidu, Retineni Murali Krishna, K Radhakrishnaiah and Kujeti Krishna Pavan. Police said that the four directors conned, cheated and projected fake financial statements and cheated the complainant of more than Rs 15 crore.
