SUB-INSPECTOR WAS ARRESTED FOR DOWRY HARASSMENT

Based on the complaint filed by the Jyothi, wife of sub-inspector, the Malkajgiri police arrested Sangareddy police station sub-inspector Laxma Reddy for harassing his wife for additional dowry and domestic violence.

CONSPIRACY CHARGES AGAINST L K ADVANI AND OTHERS IN BABRI CASE

A special CBI court ordered framing of charges against BJP veterans L K Advani, Murali Manohar Joshi, Union Minister Uma Bharti and nine others who will now stand trial for criminal conspiracy in the 1992 demolition of the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya. Their applications for discharge from the offence were rejected and granted bail on a personal bond of Rs 50,000 each.

SUPREME COURT ASKED CENTRE TO PROVIDE SECURITY TO FAMILY ACCUSING MANIPUR CHIEF MINISTER

The Supreme Court had asked the Centre to consider providing security to the family of a Manipur youth who was killed in a road rage incident involving Chief Minister N Biren Singh’s son Ajay Meetai. The Parents are accusing CM of harassing them for pursuing a case against his son.

SUB-REGISTRAR ARRESTED FOR REAL ESTATE FRAUD

Hyderabad police officials have been arrested the Kukatpally sub-registrar Rachakonda Srinivasa Rao and two honchos of two real estate firms for transferring 693 acres of government land in favour of the two companies, and causing a loss of 587 crore to the government.

COURT REFUSED WOMAN TO TAKE BACK RAPE COMPLAINT

The Delhi High Court has rejected to withdraw the charges against a man who was raped his live-in partner. The woman wanted to withdraw the case after she married the accused in an Arya Samaj wedding. But court refused to withdraw the case.

The Central Bureau of Investigation raided properties linked to Karti, son of former Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram, in Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi and Gurugram. Supreme Court has said that an accused can be convicted if the woman victim's testimony is natural and trustworthy and that the corroboration of a victim's statement is not mandatory.

SUPREME COURT CONFIRMED DEATH FOR NIRBHAYA CONVICTS

The Supreme Court upheld the death penalty for the four convicts for the 2012 gang-rape and murder of Nirbhaya. While delivering the order the Supreme Court said that the Nirbhaya rape-cum-murder case is rarest of rare case and we are compelled to give extreme punishment to ensure justice.

SHE TEAM REGISTERED 22 SEVERE CASES IN APRIL

The SHE Team had received 86 complaints in April, and after preliminary investigation, 22 cases wherein offences were of severe in nature were registered. Police then arrested 12 accused and produced them before court. All of them were sent to judicial remand. Police said that most of the accused were in 18-30 age groups.
