ANTI CORRUPTION BUREAU OFFICERS SEIZED RS.20 CRORE WORTH OF ASSETS FROM IDTA EXECUTIVE ENGINEER

B Krishna Kumar, who is working as an IDTA deputy executive Engineer in Srikakulam District was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials for having illegal assets. The officials seized the total assets belonging to him totaled to Rs.20 crore which is disproportionate to his income.

NEW ANTI-TRAFFICKING LAW SOON AND LIFE TERM FOR REPEAT OFFENDERS: CENTRE

The government is set to introduce a law to guard against human trafficking, proposing 10-year punishment for those engaging in aggravated forms of trafficking while seeking life imprisonment for repeat offenders. The Trafficking of Persons (Prevention, Protection and Rehabilitation) Bill 2017, initiated by the women & child development ministry, is currently with a group of ministers (GoM) that will take a final view on the matter.

SHORT FILM DIRECTOR ARRESTED FOR STALKING A WOMAN

Mutyala Yogi Kumar, a director of short films was arrested by Gachibowli police in the Hyderabad city for allegedly threatening to defame an actress-turned-techie and disturb her family life. The actress lodged a complaint against him with police on December 20, saying that he was sending messages to her and her husband to disturb her family life for not meeting his demands.

HUSBAND FILED A DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CASE AGAINST HIS WIFE

Abdul Mannan from Karimnagar filed a case in a karimnagar court against his wife and their ancestors under the Domestic Violence Act and seeks protection from their ancestors. He also urged his wife to pay a compensation of Rs 20 lakh for filing false case against him and for causing mental torture to him by her relatives. Karimnagar Additional Judicial Magistrate issued notices to his wife Fatima and her family members.

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths seized huge properties from Namala Rajender who amassed wealth working as Superintendent of Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple in Vemulawada. The officials seized the total assets belonging to him totalled to `5 crore which is disproportionate to his income.

FOUR PERSONS INCLUDING M.TECH GRADUATE ARRESTED FOR RICE PULLING FRAUD

Four persons including a 52-year-old M Tech graduate of NIT Warangal, who duped a number of people on pretext of selling rice pulling material, were arrested by Hyderabad Task Force police, and seized rice, bowls, coins and `34 lakh in cash.

SUPREME COURT FAVOURS SETTING UP OPEN JAILS FOR PRISONERS, ASKED CENTRE TO STUDY ITS FEASIBILITY

The Supreme Court has favoured setting up of open jails where inmates are not confined to the boundaries of the jail and allowed to live with their family members outside the jail during the day and earn livelihood on their own, and directed the Centre to convene a meeting with the Directors General and Inspectors General of Prison of all states and union territories to examine the feasibility of setting up of open jail in each district.

NO BAIL FOR THOSE CONVICTED FOR MURDER, DACOITY

No person who is convicted of offences like dacoity, murder for gain, kidnapping for ransom and killing of public servants, the offences falling under the National Security Act and those pertaining to narcotic drugs is entitled to be released on bail despite their satisfying the criteria of the Supreme Court. However, a person who is convicted for life and whose appeal is pending before a High Court is entitled to apply for bail after he has undergone imprisonment for a minimum period of five years following his conviction.

SIX HELD FOR RUNNING FAKE EDUCATION BOARD IN DELHI

Six people have been arrested for allegedly running a fake education board in northeast Delhi’s Shahdara since 2012, the chairman of the fake education board, Shiv Prasad Pandey, was among the arrested people, said by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Nupur Prasad.

HYDERABAD: UGANDAN HELD FOR OLX FRAUD

 The Rachakonda Cyber-crime cell solved a year-old case and arrested a Ugandan national who cheated a person of RS1.86 lakh on the pretext of selling him a car on OLX. Fredrick Ssebugenyi, 27, the accused, was arrested from Shantinagar in Bengaluru.

MADHYA PRADESH ASSEMBLY PASSED BILL AWARDING DEATH PENALTY FOR RAPE OF GIRLS AGED 12 OR LESS

The Madhya Pradesh state assembly with one accord passed a bill aimed at amending the Indian Penal Code (IPC) to impose the death penalty on those found guilty of raping girls aged 12 and below. The bill will now be sent to the President for his assent, before being enacted.

MOTHER AND PARAMOUR HELD FOR FORCING 4-YEAR-OLD GIRL MADE TO SIT ON FRYING PAN

A four-year-old girl suffered burns after she was allegedly forced to sit on a hot frying pan by her mother at SR Nagar. Her mother and her paramour were arrested. The incident came to light on Sunday, when the couple took the girl to a Bharosa Centre and said that she was an orphan whom they had found in an injured state at a railway station.

NCRB DATA, 2016: HYDERABAD STANDS SECOND IN CRIMES OF CRUELTY BY HUSBAND

The latest National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB) data shows that Hyderabad city stands second in reporting cases of crime against women on the head of ‘cruelty by husband or his relatives’ by registering 1,311 cases during 2016 while Delhi topped with 3,645 cases being reported.

SEVEN PERSONS HELD FOR DUPING YOUTH ON PRETEXT OF PROVIDING JOBS

A former aeronautical engineer and his team cheated around 100 gullible youth by falsely promising them jobs in the Railways and NTPC if they paid him, and cleared up Rs 70 lakh in the process. The Rachakonda police busted the job racket and arrested the gang, which included two women.

HYDERABAD: MINOR PREGNANT AFTER ASSAULT BY WATCHMAN

A 60-year-old man working as a watchman at an apartment in Jawaharnagar sexually assaulted a  16-year-old girl, resulting in her pregnancy. The accused was identified as Shankar. This is the third such incident in the city in the past four days where elderly men have sexually assaulted minors.

85-YEAR-OLD MAN ARRESTED FOR SEXUALLY ABUSING SIX MINOR GIRLS

An 85-year-old man identified as M Satyanarayana has been arrested by the Kushaiguda Police for allegedly sexually abusing six minor girls over the past few months. The matter was brought to light by members of the 'She teams' in Hyderabad after which the matter was reported to the police. The parents of the six children have filed a complaint with the police.

CHILD SEX ABUSE CHARGES BASELESS: SCHOOL TRUSTEE

The police had arrested the 57-year-old school trustee on November 7, after the child's parents filed a case. The parents alleged that the trustee, a foreigner, who had founded the school in 2000, had sexually assaulted their daughter on the school premises earlier this year.

Video jockey and TV personality Clince Varghese prank video was lead to his arrest. He went to board a Jet Airways flight scheduled to take off from Kochi to Mumbai at 12:05 pm, in the airport he was uploading a selfie-video onto his Instagram, FB and Twitter accounts, and added as voice-over that he was going to 'hijack' the plane with 'happy vibes'.

RYAN'S SCHOOL CLASS 11 STUDENT KILLED JUNIOR TO POSTPONE EXAM: CBI OFFICIALS

Central Bureau of Investigation officials identified a 16-year-old Class 11 student of the Ryan school campus in Gurgaon's Bhondsi as the prime suspect in the murder of 7-year old same school student Pradhyumn Thakur. According to CBI, he wanted to defer an exam that day and postpone a parent-teacher meeting (PTM) and had allegedly been exploring ways of doing it, and planned the murder to simply postpone the exam.

In Delhi, first Dark Web-based international drug racket was busted by crime branch with the arrest of two youths while they were receiving the drugs they had ordered online using Bitcoin or crypto currency. The police also seized 42 grams of MDMA or ecstasy that they had planned to sell at rave parties.
